ARRA Front End Center Reporting

GOAL: The Front End Center will reduce barriers to employment using three different strategies.  A GED prep program will assess current grade levels and provide wrap-around supports toassist those at 9th grade or higher successfully completetheir diploma or equivalent; The Driver's License Recovery Program will lead to the reinstatement of legal driving privileges; the Career Counselor will provide training and career path guidance to assist participants in movement along a career pathway.

Program Milestones
ARRA Plans & Targets May 1-Sept. 30, 2009 Oct. 1-Dec. 31, 2009 Jan 1.- March 31, 2010 April. 1 - June 30, 2010 July 1 - Sept. 30, 2010
9/30/09: Complete hiring and training of key staff; secure facility for program operations by 9/15/09; create a healthy learning environment complete with required technology; market program services and secure 50 internal referrals. Became fully staffed, secured and moved into facility, developed an internal referral process, distributed 100 pieces of marketing materials, and secured 49 internal referrals.        
12/31/09: Finalize program development(service model); assess 50 and nroll a minimum of 30 persons (TABE): 50% testing above 9th grade will be activiely working on GED completion and 50% with HS diploma will be working on building employment based testing skills; 15 participants actively working towards drivers license recovery; 25 participants will have developed career plans and are activiley engaged in taking steps along a formal career path and making forward progress.    A total of 46 participants have been enrolled based on 50 internal referrals; 7 participants have dropped with 39 active remaining participants.  12 participants have developed career path plans, 12 participants have developed a driver's license recovery plan, 9 participants have received individual employment training and been assessed for employability (using Job Fit)      
3/31/2010: Recruit an additional 50 participants to be assessed (TABE) and enroll and additional 20 persons; 10 additional participants will be actively working towards DL recovery; 50 people will receive at least 1 group service (addressing education and/or employment preparation and/or life skill development) and as a result are more employable and better prepared to enter the workforce; 50% testing above 9th grade of teh participants receiving GED preparatory services will have demonstrated academic improvement as measured by the FEC/SSS and TABE results: 25 additional persons will develop career paths;50 participants will complete career exploration and a job fit assessment.     95 have been served in group workshops addressing education and/or employment barriers and life skills development. 
58 of the 95 have been TABED year-to-date; 2 have obtained their GED; 12 are actively enrolled and participating in the GED testing process. 58 of 95 have been assessed for work readiness and career planning; 25 of the 95 have developed individual career path plans.    21 have developed a DL recovery plan; 3 have achieve DL recovery; 3 have passed the knowledge test.
   
6/30/2010: 15 (of 25) actively working DL recovery will reestablish driving privileges; 50% of those testing below 9th grade will increase two grade levels; 50% of those with HS diploma will have demonstrated the ability to successfully complete employment based reading/math test.          
9/30/10: 100 persons assessed; 100 persons will be served in group workshop services (addressing education and/or employment barriers and/or life skills decelopement); 50 people will develop individual career plans; 50 people will participate in the program; 70% testing above 9th grade will receive GED; 70% testing below 9th grade will increae two gade levels; 90% with high school diplomas will be able to successfully complete employed based reading/math test; of teh 25 persons receiving DL recovery assistance, 40% will re-establish driving privileges without legal assistance and 60% will re-establish with legal assistance.
