Twin Oaks Shelter for the Homeless is located in Darien, WI and offers 12 residential units where homeless households can stay up to 90 days.  Community Action has operated Twin Oaks since 1992.  The shelter relies almost exclusively on private donations, needing over $200,000 annually to continue operations.  Each year, the shelter houses as many as 175 individuals with close to 1/2 of those being children.  Twin Oaks provides a professional case manager who works with residents in resolving their crisis and finding stable housing.  The shelter also offers workshops to build residents' knowledge and skills in areas such as; employment, landlord tenant relationships, budgeting, alcohol and drug awareness and mental health issues.  Twin Oaks is open 7 days a week 365 days a year.
