Proud choices. Respectful decisions. Community Action is partnering with other local organizations to encourage teens to choose wisely despite the temptations of prom season. The FREE one-mile walk on Saturday, April 25 will begin and end at the Hendricks Center for the Arts in downtown Beloit. The event is open to the public. We are also encouraging our program participants to join the walk, and collect pledges to help support our community outreach efforts. This outreach coaches teens about personal responsibility and motivates them to make decisions they will be proud of years down the road.

Those who turn in pledges, make a donation, or visit all organizations’ booths will earn a t-shirt, along with other giveaways.

Participating organizations include: Mercy Health System, School District of Beloit, Beloit College, the Diversity Action Team, S & J Consulting, 27 West Appraisal, First Choice Health Center, Beloit Public Health Initiative, BRAVE, Community Action’s Personal Responsibility Education Program (PREP), Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin, and Exchange Family Resource Center Network.
Registration for the walk and free breakfast starts at 9:00. The walk itself starts at 10:00.

Free lunch is available afterward, along with raffles, t-shirts and video presentations.
