On May 1st, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., Community Action of Rock and Walworth Counties will be recognized by The Office of Community Services during a national virtual kickoff event to commemorate the 60th Anniversary of Community Action.
This kickoff event will recognize the numerous contributions that Community Action’s from across the country have made and continue to make. It will also commemorate Community Action Month and the 60th Anniversary of Community Action. Participants will hear from leaders across ACF, community members with lived experience who have been served by Community Action, experts in poverty research, and national partners.
A highlight of this event will include Community Action of Rock and Walworth Counties Beloit Fresh Start YouthBuild Program and feature three current students. Community Action of Rock and Walworth Counties has been chosen to share a video highlighting the Beloit Fresh Start program and to provide Beloit Fresh Start students with an opportunity to speak and share their experiences with the public.
“Community Actions are doing amazing work all over the county, so to have our organization recognized, to have our program highlighted, and to have a spotlight on our amazing young people is a tremendous honor,” says Marc Perry, Executive Director of Community Action.
Community Action of Rock and Walworth County invites you to tune into the virtual event that will showcase members within the community. To watch this event, viewers must register at zoomgov.com.
