Beloit, WI – June 27, 2025 – Community Action, in partnership with the City of Beloit, is proud to announce two upcoming Neighborhood Clean-Up Days aimed at supporting residents in the Merrill and Hackett neighborhoods. These events are part of a broader initiative to improve environmental quality, reduce illegal dumping, and promote community pride in historically underserved areas.

Merrill Neighborhood Clean-Up Day will take place on Saturday, August 9, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Regina Dunkin Park, 1218 Henry Avenue, Beloit, WI.

Hackett Neighborhood Clean-Up Day will follow on Saturday, August 16, 2025, also from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Beloit Historical Society, 845 Hackett Street, Beloit, WI.

These events provide safe, accessible, and no-cost disposal opportunities for residents to get rid of unwanted household items, including electronics, tires, computers, and small televisions. By offering centralized drop-off locations, the program helps reduce clutter, prevent illegal dumping, and enhance the appearance of residential areas.

“These clean-up days are about more than just waste disposal,” said Marc Perry, Executive Director at Community Action. “They’re about empowering residents, revitalizing neighborhoods, and building a stronger, healthier community.”

The Neighborhood Clean-Up Days are specifically designed to meet the needs of low- to moderate-income households who may not otherwise have access to proper disposal resources. The initiative supports ongoing efforts to improve housing stock and exterior property conditions in the Merrill and Hackett neighborhoods.
