Beloit, WI — Community Action, Inc. of Rock & Walworth Counties (CAI) is proud to announce a significant investment of over $400,000 from United Way Blackhawk Region (UWBR) to support vital community programs during the 2025–2027 grant cycle.

“The importance of being a UWBR funded organization goes far beyond the financial resources that UWBR provides to our programs,” said Marc Perry, Executive Director of CAI.

“Being a UWBR partner organization speaks to the legitimacy, credibility, and impact of our programs and our organization. It is a very public stamp of approval that we at CAI are good stewards of the resources UWBR donors and volunteers provide; it is a strong statement to the community that we are who we say we are.”

The UWBR Board of Directors approved funding for the following CAI programs:

  • AWARE – $47,000
  • Community Kids – $180,000
  • Project Thrive – $60,000
  • Personal Responsibility Empowerment Program (PREP) – $20,000
  • Transitional Living Program – $108,000

In addition to program funding, CAI actively participates in UWBR’s Day of Caring volunteer initiative and hosts an internal United Way workplace campaign, further strengthening the partnership and community engagement.

This investment underscores CAI’s commitment to empowering individuals and families across Rock and Walworth Counties through education, support, and opportunity.
