Community Action, Inc. of Rock and Walworth Counties is pleased to announce a $6,000 donation from BMO Harris Bank. The funds are designated to support the agency’s Twin Oaks Golf Outing, Gingerbread Extravaganza and Fatherhood Initiative.

The Twin Oaks Golf Outing commemorates its 17th year in 2015. Proceeds from the event directly support Twin Oaks Shelter for the Homeless, Walworth County’s only 24-hour homeless shelter. This year’s golf outing is set for July 20 at Abbey Springs Golf Course in Fontana.
Community Action’s Gingerbread Extravaganza kicks off the Christmas season at Beloit’s Eclipse Center on the first Saturday in December. Families decorate gingerbread houses and cookies, visit with Santa and enjoy other holiday activities in this growing local tradition. The Gingerbread Extravaganza supports all of Community Action’s anti-poverty programs.
Community Action’s Fatherhood Initiative provides job training and support for fatherless fathers in Rock County. Through an intensive three-month program, the Fatherhood Initiative collaborates with employers to fill entry-level positions and encourage participants to become tax-paying citizens. The grant from BMO Harris Bank will be matched by a government grant, essentially doubling the donation.
