DELAVAN, WI (5-21-2015)

Community Action, Inc. of Rock and Walworth Counties is expanding its partnership with landlords in Walworth County for the agency’s Transitional Living Program (TLP).

“We’ve operated this program in Walworth County for nearly two years,” says Sue Katzer, Housing Services Manager. “The biggest benefits for landlords are guaranteed rent and weekly home monitoring by a case manager.”

Community Action leases units and sublets them to TLP participants. Community Action pays 100% of the unit’s rent and takes responsibility for maintaining the unit’s condition. Rent varies based on unit size and whether utilities are included. The program is funded by HUD.

Delavan, Lake Geneva and Elkhorn are typically the areas with the highest demand for these rentals. TLP participants are required to maintain employment and those cities have a greater density of job opportunities. TLP has operated successfully in Rock County for more than a decade.
