BELOIT–The Salvation Army – Rock County – Beloit, WI is organizing an emergency overnight shelter January 29th, 30th and 31st and needs volunteers and donations of blankets, food, etc..

Shifts:
4pm-8pm: Dinner served during this shift
8pm-Midnight
Midnight – 4am
4am – 8am: Breakfast served during this shift

Volunteer duties will be first and foremost, to be present as an extra set of eyes should any situation arise. Either Captain Jacob or Captain Melinda will be on site at all times, as well. During the meal shifts, volunteers are needed to help serve and clean up from the meal times. We are hoping to have around 4 volunteers per shift, but a minimum of two (in addition to Captain Jacob/Captain Melinda). Volunteers would also be keeping an eye for emergency situations, such as medical emergencies or altercations between guests, etc.

The shelter location will be in the Salvation Army gym, at 628 Broad Street, Beloit.

If anyone would like to help, but are unable to volunteer during one of the shifts, we will also be in need of donations for meals and pillows/blankets for our guests.
