We recently scheduled an energy audit for an elderly couple living in a mobile home on a fixed income.
The list of things we can fix in a mobile home has been dramatically decreased, but light bulbs are something we can always do. When our staff members explained this to the elderly woman over the phone, she was so excited that she began to cry. The light bulbs in her kitchen had burned out quite some time ago. She and her husband were not physically able to climb ladders anymore, and they have no family around to help them out. Their kitchen had been dark because they could not change the bulbs.
Sometimes the smallest things we can do for someone means the world to them.
