JANESVILLE—Community Kids Learning Center, a program of Community Action, Inc. of Rock & Walworth Counties, is CK and EHS logospleased to begin a partnership with the local Early Head Start program.

“This is a unique opportunity for our staff to teach alongside the Early Head Start staff,” says Jennifer Webb, Community Kids manager. “The collaboration will also help provide early intervention to eligible families.”

Early Head Start is a federally funded community-based program for low-income families with young children. The classroom will serve eight children, from infants to three-year-olds.

“We’re excited about the opportunity to serve families in common and provide quality infant/toddler care,” says Carol Mishler, executive director of Rock-Walworth Comprehensive Family Services Inc. Head Start and Early Head Start.

“It’s important to work with another partner with a similar mission to serve the community’s most vulnerable population,” says Mishler.

Two teachers and a family advocate will work with the Early Head Start classroom.

Community Kids officially starts hosting the classes March 1.
