Community Action, Inc. of Rock & Walworth Counties is pleased to announce Lynn Vollbrecht as its new development manager. She joined the local nonprofit organization in December.

In her role, Vollbrecht will be responsible for creating systems and procedures to support a donorcentric environment through education and training. She will develop and nurture relationships with volunteers and donors while enhancing fund development.

“The level of generosity in Rock and Walworth counties is astounding, and it’s humbling to work day in and day out alongside people who are so dedicated to seeing everyone in our local communities thrive,” she says. “I’m incredibly excited about the projects and events we have in the works.”

Vollbrecht is passionate about her adopted hometown of Beloit and the surrounding area, having moved here to attend Beloit College more than 12 years ago. She holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology with a minor in journalism, as well as a certificate of non-fiction writing and editing. Before joining the team at Community Action, Inc. Vollbrecht worked for five years as a writer and editor in Beloit College’s Office of Communications & Marketing; prior to that, she was a reporter for the Stateline News, Janesville Messenger, and Walworth County Sunday. She remains involved in the community and active in the out-of-doors by serving on the board of directors for the Welty Environmental Center, and by spending her summer Saturday mornings working at the Downtown Beloit Farmers Market.
