DARIEN—Community Action, Inc. of Rock & Walworth Counties announces plans to expand Twin Oaks Shelter for the Homeless.

Walworth County is including funding for Twin Oaks Shelter as the County prepares to allocate American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds from the federal government. The funds would help kick-start a capital campaign to build a new shelter. Twin Oaks is currently Walworth County’s only homeless shelter open year-round, available to individuals and families in crisis.

“We truly appreciate the willingness of the Walworth County Administrator, County staff and Board of Supervisors to recognize the important need and for continuing to support our work. We will have more information in the coming weeks regarding our future plans for the facility,” says Marc Perry, executive director of Community Action.
