ROCK COUNTY—Community Action, Inc. of Rock & Walworth Counties (CAI) proudly announces an investment of nearly $500,000 from United Way Blackhawk Region (UWBR).

“The importance of being a UWBR funded organization goes far beyond the financial resources that UWBR provides to our programs,” says Marc Perry, CAI executive director.

“Being a UWBR partner organization speaks to the legitimacy, credibility and impact of our programs and our organization. It is a very public stamp of approval that we at CAI are good stewards of the resources UWBR donors and volunteers provide; it is a strong statement to the community that we are who we say we are.”

UWBR’s Board of Directors approved funding for the following CAI programs during the 2023-25 grant cycle:

  • AWARE in Evansville $30,000
  • Community Kids Learning Center $120,000
  • Beloit Fresh Start $20,000
  • Merrill Community Center Youth Programs $115,000
  • Merrill Community Center Senior Program $27,000
  • Project Thrive $60,000
  • Rapid Rehousing/Permanent Supportive Housing $108,000

CAI also hosts UWBR Day of Caring volunteers and an internal United Way workplace campaign as part of the partnership.
